Age Spots
Age spots, also known as liver spots, are one of the most prevalent and unflattering signs of aging next to wrinkles. Produced by excessive sun exposure, age spots are large brown spots that look like overgrown freckles. Photodamaged skin is unable to deliver nutrient-rich filled blood to the surface of the skin. In order to reverse this impediment, blood vessels need to dilate bringing forth more nutrient-rich blood to the skin's surface. A compound called Dithiolane-3-Pentanic Acid, or D3PA for short, does just that. D3PA helps dilate capillaries and increases healthy blood flood to the skin minimizing the effects of age spots.
